Updates for March 21, 2008:
The Amber Alert for the three Georgia children who were abducted on March 5th was canceled on Wednesday March 19th after their bodies, and the body of the suspect, were found. Their deaths were ruled a murder suicide. THe children were shot by the suspect who then turned the gun on himself. An approximate time of death has yet to be determined. It has been reported that the suspect purchased a handgun the day the children were abducted. Anyone with information on the movement of the children and the suspect is asked to call police.Photos
The California Amber Alert for Zane Newton was canceled on March 19th after his body was recovered by Bakersfield police. Zane and a playmate were digging a tunnel in a lot near Zane's home when the tunnel collapsed and suffocated Zane. The playmate subsequently fabricated the abduction because he was afraid of getting in trouble. It is not known if Zane could have been saved had the boy told the truth. Photo
Active Amber AlertsPlease note: We carry nationwide alerts for the US and Canada. Alerts for all provinces are carried on the Canadian Ticker. Amber Alerts are removed from the ticker if there is no new information on the case for five days. In the case where an alert is removed from the ticker but remains active, it will be posted here. In a situation where new information is deemed to be of value in locating the child we will reactivate the ticker for the cases on this page. Active Alerts previously carried on the Code Amber Ticker:
