Amber Alert Issued for 2 Children in Los Angeles California August 30

Although the Alert remains active, LAPD believes the suspects have left the country traveling through Mexico to their native Columbia.

Laura and Jonathan Arciniega were abducted from 3075 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles CA on Saturday August 30, 2003.


Laura is 6 yrs., Hispanic, female and Jonathan is 2 yrs., Hispanic male.

Police are looking for Leonardo Arciniega, 22 yrs., Hispanic, male 5' 6", 140 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes and Diana Polentino, 24 yrs., Hispanic female, 5', 130 lbs., black hair and brown eyes.

They are driving a red Ford 1997 Explorer with unknown license plate. They are thought to be heading to the Mexican border with the intent to travel to their native Columbia.

Both parents are considered suspects in the death of their third child who died of shaken-baby syndrome in May.
