J.J. Coleman

11-month-old Black Male with brown eyes and black hair was taken from his home in Shreveport LA at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday July 22 last seen wearing a white pull over shirt.

J.J. was hastily dropped off at his house in the 1600 block of Logan Street ­ 17 hours after his father forcibly entered the home and snatched the boy.

J.J. Coleman appeared to be in good condition but was taken to LSU Hospital for examination to make sure that he was not harmed.

The boy's father, 38-year-old Romaine Ruffins of Shreveport, reportedly dropped off the child at the location about 10:30 p.m. and quickly fled the scene. Officers caught up with him at the Fairmont Apartments, located at Texas and Cotten streets downtown.

Ruffins was taken to the Caddo Correctional Center and will be charged with being a fugitive from Probation and Parole for not reporting to his P&P officer after being released from prison in March. He also will be charged with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling for this morning's incident. More charges against Ruffins may be filed as the investigation continues.

The child has a liver disease and needs his daily medication.

Police are looking for Romaine Ruffins, AKA Billy Ray Jones a Black male 5'10", 165 lbs,. He is considered violent and dangerous. Ruffins was wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and a black stocking cap. He has access to a gray vehicle with Texas tags (unknown make and model).
