Code Amber Alert Canceled for 2 Maryland Children

The Code Amber Endangered Alert was canceled on Sunday (09-20) after the children were reunited with their father. Both children are safe and unharmed. No information is available on charges against the suspect at this time.

This Code Amber Alert was issued after the children were abducted by the suspect in Frederick Maryland on August 24, 2009. A felony warrant for Kidnapping was issued for the suspect on September 2, 2009. They may be traveling to Miami or West Palm Beach, Florida. No Amber Alert was issued in this case.

Kathryn Esther Leverenz a 12 year old white female, 5 feet tall, weighing 90 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Andrew Robert Leverenz a 10 year old white male, 4 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 78 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.


The suspect is Lydia Franklin Leverenz , an Hispanic female, 45 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 lbs., black hair and brown eyes.

The suspect vehicle is a silver 2002 Honda Civic with Maryland license plates KZB569.

Anyone with information is asked to dial 911.
