Amber Alert Issued for 2 Iowa children

The LeMars Iowa Police Department and the state of Iowa issued the Amber Alert on Sunday afternoon after the girls were apparently abducted.

Chassa Norris, white female, 5 feet 9 with brown hair and hazel eyes weighing 116 pounds. She's 16 years of age.

Janet Haugen, 17 years of age, a white female, 5’9” with brown hair and hazel eyes weighing 130 pounds.

The suspect is John Nathan Hemmingsen, a 19-year old male. No further description is available. Hemmingsen is currently out on bond for a sexual assault charge.

The suspect vehicle is a green, 1997, two-door Pontiac Sunfire with Iowa license plates with the number 7-8-9-P-S-Q. Police said the car has distinctive markings on its side described as a pink flowery lightning strike.
