Amber Alert Issued for 13 Year Old Missouri Boy

The Franklin County Sheriff's Department issued an Amber Alert on January 9, 2007 after the child was apparently abducted while walking home from school in Beaufort, Missouri. It is 50 miles southeast of St. Louis.

William "Ben" Ownby, 13 years of age. He was taken at Buth Lane and Wild Rose Lane in Beaufort at 3:30 P.M. yesterday. Ownby is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall, white male, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing glasses, a Rams hooded windbreaker and blue jeans.

We have no suspect information available at this time.

The vehicle may be a white compact truck with a camper shell possibly a Nissan or Chevrolet S-10. It was last seen headed east on U.S. Highway 50 from Beautfort.
