Amber Alert cancelled for 13 Year Old Missouri Boy

The Franklin County Sheriff's Department cancelled the Amber Alert on January 12, 2007 after the boy was recovered safe. A second boy, Shawn Hornbeck, was also recovered. Shawn Hornbeck had been missing since October, 2002, A suspect is in custody at this time.

William "Ben" Ownby, 13 years of age. He was taken at Buth Lane and Wild Rose Lane in Beaufort at 3:30 P.M. Monday January 8th. Ownby is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall, white male, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing glasses, a Rams hooded windbreaker and blue jeans.

We have no suspect information available at this time.

The vehicle may be a white compact truck with a camper shell possibly a Nissan or Chevrolet S-10. It was last seen headed east on U.S. Highway 50 from Beautfort.
