Amber Alert Canceled for 5 Year Old Texas Boy Posted: Thursday 05/20/04 7:45 PM CT Updated: Thursday 05/27/04 7:34 PM CT
The Cameron County Sheriff's department and the Texas DPS canceled the Amber Alert on Thursday afternoon May 27 although the boy remains missing.
Sean Shrewsbury, 5 yrs., white male, 3', 45 lbs. with brown eyes and brown hair was abducted in Laguna Vista in South Texas near the Mexican border on Thursday afternoon.
He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue pants.
Police are looking for John Shrewsbury, 26 yrs., 5'9", 154 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and white shorts.
Shrewsbury is now driving a 1998 4-door red Ford Escort with Texas license plate T87-YDK.
DPS says John Shrewsbury assaulted the child's grandfather during the abduction and will be charged with attempted murder. Law officers believe the boy is in grave danger.
