The New Mexico State Police found Matthew Howard Strawser, 7, and Robert Aaron Strawser, 5, with their father, John Wesley Strawser, 30, on Thursday afternoon at a woman's home in Moriarty, N.M., Knox County Sheriff David Barber said.

The boys, who have been subjects of a nationwide search since authorities suspected their father abducted them last fall, were found healthy and unharmed, Barber said. They are being cared for by children's services officials in New Mexico until they can be returned to Knox County.

John Strawser is being detained on charges of failure to appear for trial in Knox County Common Pleas Court and is expected to be returned to Knox County, Barber said.
