FBI searching for wanted fugitive with ties to Augusta
AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) – The FBI is searching for a fugitive who has ties to the Augusta area.
Antwan Tamon Mims is a recent addition FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. According to the FBI, Mims is wanted for the murders of Cortez Lamont Miller and Michael Cantrell Johnson in Benton Harbor, Michigan. On Mar. 25, investigators say Mims approached the two men in the front yard of a house party and gunned them down in front of around 100 people. He then allegedly shot both men in the head as they lay bleeding on the ground.
Mims is known to have personal ties to the Augusta area. He is between 5’8″ and 5’11” tall and between 210 and 265 lbs. He has tattoos on his hands, forearms, and upper right arm. He is known to go by several aliases, including Antwan T. Tamon, Antwon Tamon Mims, Antwan Tamon, Jr., Antwane Tamon Mims, Antwane Tamone, Ricky Moore, Holden Harris, Holden Harris, Jr., and “Tank”.
“The callused indifference with which Mims carried out his murders has rightly placed this violent and dangerous fugitive on the FBI’s ‘Ten Most Wanted Fugitives’ list,” stated Timothy R. Slater, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Detroit Field Office. “Our need for the public’s assistance cannot be overstated, and we urge anyone with information related to Mims or his horrific crimes to come forward. The investigative resources of the FBI, Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety, and Michigan State Police are fully dedicated toward protecting our communities from this menace to society. We will never forget, nor will we rest until Antwan Tamon Mims is located, captured, and brought to justice for his crimes.”
Arrest warrants for Mims’ arrest have been issued, charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, 2 counts of 1st-degree murder, possession of firearm by a felon, and 2 felony firearm charges.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to Mims’ arrest. He should be armed and extremely dangerous.
