Happiness is an extremely interesting topic.
As you can imagine, people are very interested in it, because
they want to be happier, to figure out what the recipe is for happiness.
But, my own research is mostly focused on pleasure.
I can tell you what the difference is. One way about it is that
pleasure is short term. Pleasure is the experience you have
when you put a bite of something delicious in your mouth,
or you look at a beautiful painting,
or somebody you love hugs you.
There are rushes, or short-term rushes of calming pleasure.
Happiness is more enduring, is how you think about your life.
So, you can pull them apart, I could ask you
to list all the pleasures of your day.
Or I can even give you a smartphone,
and the smartphone will go off randomly,
and when it goes off randomly, you have to stop and write down
what are you doing and how much pleasure is it giving you.
We use this to measure how much pleasure you have in your life.
Then we could study how much happiness you have in your life.
We typically do this just by asking you,
from the scale of 1 to 10, for instance,
how happy are you of your whole life.
And those numbers are reliable. There are country differences,
some countries are happy, some countries are sad.
There’s a relationship, as you’d expect,
between how you answer the question of happiness,
and how much pleasure you get in your life.
It correlates in about 50%.
That means there are some people whose lives are full of pleasure,
buy you ask them, “how happy are you,” and they say, “not so much”.
It also means that there are some some people who
when you ask them their happiness, will tell you sincerely,
“I’m a very happy person,”
but then you ask them about the pleasures of their life, “not so much”.
So, there’s a difference.
What everybody wants to know is how you get a happy life,
and there’s a lot of debate. One solution is to be born well.
There’s some biological heritability to happiness,
so, you’re best to be born from happy parents.
People claim that long-standing stable relationships
are good for happiness. Close friendships, social connections,
these seem to matter a lot more than money, and houses, and cars.
There’s some debate about this but probably having kids on a whole
may make you happier. Having long-standing creative projects
makes people happy. Things that engage them,
puts them into a bigger thing.
What doesn’t make you so happy is the sort of short-term things
like money and possessions. They may give you a short buzz
but they won’t give you long-standing happiness.
Sometimes what makes you happy is medication,
if you’re sufficiently low in happiness,
antidepressant medications will bring you up.

President Moon discusses political cooperation with India’s foreign minister – Duration: 2:20. Staying in New Delhi.
The South Korean leader will be kept busier than ever, meeting with the country’s top
diplomat, the foreign minister and the president.
Not to mention a visit to a key Samsung facility.
For an in-depth analysis of the policies between the two countries that align, we turn to our
Cha Sang-mi President Moon Jae-in on Monday began the
first official engagement of his state visit to a South Asian country, by meeting with
India’s foreign minister Sushima Swaraj, where he discussed his vision for the New Southern
Moon said South Korea’s ties with India have been developing consistently, since they upgraded
their bilateral relations to a “special strategic partnership” in 2015, and added that he would
like to expand their cooperation.
His plan aims at deepening ties with India and other countries in the region to build
a future partnership for what he dubs the three P’s: People, Prosperity, and Peace.
Minister Swaraj welcomed President Moon’s visit and said the Indian government also
wanted to strengthen its relationship with South Korea.
And this, an Indian expert says, is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push for
his “Act East Policy.”
“If you try to understand India’s ‘Act East Foreign Policy’, ASEAN is actually the center
of India’s ‘Act East Foreign Policy’.
We have a range of contact with ASEAN, be in connectivity, stronger economic ties, be
it political contacts, and be it also security and defense contact with some of the ASEAN
(cut) And that actually establishes common ground with India’s policy and Moon Jae-in’s
‘New Southern Policy’.”
The researcher called President Moon’s foreign policy very pragmatic, and said the Moon-Modi
summit will not only pave the way for better South Korea-India cooperations on the bilateral
level, but also on the regional level.
A Korean expert in the field also emphasized that the role of India goes beyond economics.
“India, among the BRICS countries is the only nation that has productivity, marketability
and serves as a base to go out to the Middle East or Africa.
India is a hub for politics, economy, defense and diplomacy.”
The expert urged the Korean government to approach India not only as an emerging market,
but to view it as a closer diplomatic partner that can bridge the gap in Asia in many ways.

touch it it don’t work it works when you’re when
you’re recording right you think oh I’ve got it figured out and then when you go
to watch the playback it’s a picture of yeah it’s just different videos and you
can choose which one you want to keep but you can’t keep both of them so you
choose any of the other options that I never chose and you can do camera in
camera and then you’re right back there again

running off ghosts in your house – if you want to get one of those big salt
lamps and if mama ever deprives you of salt you can break y’all peace need it

lamp and this stuff that it dissolves into really quick and like a powder
right it’s my process it’s rocks not saying you should use the
rock salt ass off the road at the end of winter that’s you don’t want to use that

So, You Think You’re Tolerant? – Duration: 4:35. Tolerance.
It’s a word we hear a lot these days.
So, let’s define it.
Tolerance is “the ability to live with people whose opinions and behavior you don’t agree with.”
That’s essentially how Oxford defines it, how Merriam-Webster defines it, and how we,
as a society, have always defined it.
You might be for the death penalty, and your cousin might be against it.
You might be against a $15 minimum wage, and your coworker might be for it.
Your dad might have voted for Trump, your mom might have voted for Clinton, and your
brother may not have voted at all.
Whatever differences we have, tolerating others’ opinions is a prerequisite to a functioning
and free society.
America itself was built on a foundation of tolerance.
The Declaration of Independence guarantees us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
But there’s an implicit contract there: To have your life, your liberty, and your
pursuit of happiness, you have to be tolerant of somebody else’s life, their liberty,
and their pursuit of happiness.
This contract, though, seems to be breaking down.
If you listen to the mainstream media, only one side is living up to this deal: the left.
The right, according to the media, is intolerant of everyone…except those darned white, heterosexual,
There’s only one problem.
It’s just not true.
Incredibly, the left isn’t even tolerant of the very people they say they’re tolerant of!
If you’re gay, or black, or an immigrant, and you’re not in lockstep with current
leftist orthodoxy, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
If you believe we should judge people on the content of their character and not the color
of their skin, the left calls you “racist.”
If you believe that America is a nation of immigrants, but that our country should also
protect its borders, the left calls you a “xenophobe.”
If you believe that men and women are equal but fundamentally different,
the left calls you “sexist.”
Here’s the thing: those who only tolerate people they agree with or like…
aren’t actually tolerant.
So, who is tolerant?
Is it the organizers of the Women’s March, who had to apologize for the “hurt and confusion”
they caused when they invited a man—leftist icon Bernie Sanders—to speak at their convention?
Is it the Antifa thugs, who caused UC Berkeley to spend $600,000 on security when mainstream
conservative Ben Shapiro showed up to give a talk?
Or is it democratic congresswoman Maxine Waters, who scolded Kanye West for “talking out
of turn” when he dared suggest that blacks should think for themselves?
These aren’t isolated examples.
I’m guessing that you—person watching this right now—have silenced yourself because
you don’t want to suffer the wrath of the outrage mob.
So, let me ask the question again: Who is tolerant?
Well, here’s the surprise: It’s actually those “scary” right-wingers that the media
and the universities demonize every day.
I speak from personal experience.
Maybe I’m a glutton for punishment here, but I still consider myself a liberal.
And it’s my duty as a liberal to say what I think.
I would rather stand for what I believe and be hated than bow down and be loved.
The left, sadly, has become utterly intolerant of anyone with whom they disagree.
Because they believe that they know how you should live and how you should think.
Any deviation, any non-conformity, is dangerous to that goal.
Believe it or not, the right, these days, actually welcomes diversity of thought.
I can tell you that in the last few years of my political evolution, I’ve consistently
found conservatives to be tolerant and open-minded.
Don’t take my word for it, though.
Test it out for yourself.
Go talk to some.
They do exist, and they do things like watch movies, travel, and eat ethnic food
—you know, regular people things.
You know what I found out?
The right, much more than the left, believes in the notion of “live and let live.”
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the true definition of tolerance.

Crochet Summer Stitch Along: Week 1 – Duration: 24:00. Welcome to week number one of The Study of Texture Afghan. Today the study is “old town squares”. What do we mean by that?
Well we’re gonna be starting off in the center of your afghan and going in a square around. So it’s kinda the old
town square. So we’re gonna continue to round and around the statue in the old town centre
but we have some speed bumps that we have to watch out for. In speed bumps I mean rib stitching.
So what we’re going to do is get you started within this project today
and we’re going to get you started and on your way. This is a good time to do multiple at the same time
so it when you finish this and you feel like doing a second one
you can do that as well because we’re doing everything in bite sizes
you can actually make many of these at the same time in order to progress right into the end.
So without further ado, let’s head on into the studio and let’s get started.
So let’s begin week number one and we are going to do the study of the old town square.
So what we’re going to be doing is this centerpiece right
here but I want to really point out to you the information that’s over here.
So all of the different stitches that are in this entire stitch along are shown here.
So if you don’t see it on this stitch along right here
then you know it’s coming in the future.
So you can refer back to this page if you ever have to question anything that
you’ll see in the future.
The particular size of this afghan is around 52″ square and the gauge is 11 double crochet and six rows in a 4″
and we’re gonna cover that on how to make a gauge in order to check it.
I will suggest to you that the gauge is extremely important that none of you should actually be skipping to do the gauge process
because you’re working in a square like this gauge matters.
So if you’re too tight what’s gonna happen is that it could buckle and if you’re too loose
then it could be really quite sloppy in roughly.
So you wanna get that nice way of
looking and we’re going to be able to show you how to do that as well in this tutorial today.
So there’s gonna be entire, all these different patterns coming out throughout the eight weeks
but at the end of it we’re gonna combine them all together into one massive PDF.
So I would create a little mini journal for yourself so that you can follow your progress and print these out week by week or
just use your mobile device and just follow along and being able to do this. So without further ado let’s get started.
I’m gonna show you some tips with the yarn and then we’re gonna do a yarn gauge.
On screen here are two Bernat Pop balls and when you fold
them over they look like this. So you’ll notice that the centers are a different color.
Well, when you buy them on the yarn shelf
that doesn’t mean that they were from the original industrial spool that they came from. So you will notice that Bernat Pop like most other
striping yarns will never be started at the exact same spot as each other.
This whole afghan that we’re going to be working on with the stitch along requires you to do some doctoring of colors.
It doesn’t mean you’re gonna waste any yarn because you’re not but what you wanna be doing is being
when you jump from one ball to the other so that you don’t end up with a small little stripe that looks at a place
within this afghan. Let me explain.
So each one of the balls are wound in a certain order.
So if you look at it
you see this darker blue and then a lighter and then a lighter and then really dark and then you see that here there is
the light and then it goes really dark so you can see that they’re at a different pivotal point.
So what you wanna do is that if, let’s say for example
we’re switching from this ball here, and we’re finishing up this and we need to jump to this one.
What I would do if I were you and you were me and
what you want to do is that you want to just reach in and just peel back the colors.Now because it’s a cake
It’s so easy to do this. You just peel it and you just reach in and just pull what you think
that other color would be completely out of.
You just pull right out and you’re gonna put this item that you’re pulling out aside for later
and once you pull it out, what you can just do is just peel back the color that matches the same color as the outside.
So when you’re jumping from this ball to this ball, you can start at the exact same spot of this colorway.
Now what are you gonna do with the remaining that you have here when this color comes back into play, when you’re working further on
down the ball then what you can just do is put it back into place.
So you see that this light here matches this one
so when I get to the end of this ball
I’ll start at the beginning of the section here and use that up and then this new color that you see here will be the
color that I’m gonna aim for for the next time that when I’m jumping from ball to ball.
So there’s a bit of doctoring involved. This is not a special technique.
This is what people do to keep their blankets in a self-striping yarn looking consistent.
So as we get ready
I want you to pull of the center the ball outward and this will be the starting of the color.
So some people like going from out-in and
I like to go from the inside out and you’re just gonna pull and then you’re gonna get yourself ready.
So it’ll be coming up from the top. If you’re always consistent
then you can make sure that the colors stay in order in order to get your afghan to look it’s very best.
But first we have to check our gauge because I know some of you are changing your yarn colors and
changing your yarn balls itself
but we have to check our gauge because we’re working with a lot of texture with this one
we need to make sure it’s gonna work out. So let’s do a gauge test next.
So using ‘I’ a 5.5 mm crochet hook your gauge may be different because you may have a different tension than I am.
But because I am the designer my tension is what you need to match the best in order to get this thing to sit flat.
So what you wanna just do is just create a slipknot first and you’re not gonna waste this yarn,
you’re just gonna do a test right after this and what I want you to do is chain a total of 18.
So 1, 2, 3, 4,
5, 6, 7, 8,
9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14,
15, 16, 17 and 18. I want you now to come forth chain from the hook.
So 1, 2, 3 and 4, get the back hump only and I want you to double crochet
yourself all the way completely across that chain. So I’ll see at the end of that chain.
So as you come to the end of your chain, I want you to just to get that last stitch in.
I’m a kind of a relaxed crocheter, I’m not too tense and I’m not too loose and that’s what it will look like.
So I want you to turn your work and I want you to chain three. So 1, 2, 3
and starting in the very next stitch I want you to double crochet yourself across this entire row.
So what I want you to do is that I want you to go back and forth so that you have a total of six rows
and I want you to then get your tape measure ready for me and we’ll do that.
So I’ll do that off-camera. Do not fasten off. We’re going to pull this out after you get your tests done,
see where you are, and then we’ll carry on then into the first week of clues.
So here’s my gauge swatch. I didn’t fasten off so I can frog this and get started on week number one.
But I wanna check my gauge to make sure that it’s right.
So what you have to just do now that you’ve got your six rows in
what you want to do is you want to check the height. It should be four inches tall. Okay, do you see that?
Mine is exactly as it is and this is my own personal intention.
So if you’re four and a half inches tall then it means that you are a loose crocheter.
So you need to decrease your hook. So 5.5, size ‘I’ is too big for you
so try an ‘H’, size 5 mm in order to continue.
If you are too small like 3.5 instead
of 4 or even less then you what wanted to do is increase your hook. So 5.5, size ‘I’ is not big
enough for you, then try a 6 mm, size ‘J’.
You also want to chake, take a look at the amount of stitches in there, in the cross direction.
So you want to have eleven double crochets that go across so let’s count those and that’s what’s in a four inch span.
Okay, so let’s count.
So 1, 2, 3, 4, ,5 6,
7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
So I have four uh, four inches with eleven stitches and that means my gauge is right.
So if it is, if you are too big for example
your stitches are too big then 11 inches or sorry 11 of these double crochets will be even wider than four
so you want to decrease your hook and then of course if you have 11 double crochets
and it’s like three and a half. Then you need to increase your hook in order to make that work.
So that’s our gauge test.

So now that we know what our gauge is, once you’re ready to go we’re gonna start then on clue number one.
So this is my own pattern written in Yarnspirations format. I did all the typing for this
I’m really quite excited and the desigers over at Yarnspirations then and the graphics team put this into motion and
the Yarnspirations also provided a graph. So I didn’t do that, so really
thank, thankful for them to doing that.
Just a few notes in this pattern. Chain two at
the beginning of a round does not count as a half double crochet.
Chain three at the beginning of the round counts as a double crochet and then
working from the center of the ball
like I kinda talked about already and match the outside color to the preview of the previous ball to the next ball will achieve
the best results in this particular blanket.
So I’ve already explained how you can pull out the center in order to make work .
So in round number, uh, week number one we have lesson number one the study of old town square.
So I’ve actually kinda did this like summer school. So we’re going to create our first square.
This is not a granny square afghan.
This is the very start of the beginning of your square afghan that you’re going to make and I just thought it would be kinda
fun. It’s the old town square.
So this, just pretend there’s a clock in the middle and we’re going around and creating the roads
around the old town square as we go. We have some stitch work here that’s going to be
involving some rib stitching and
it’s gonna provide a really nice look. So you just gotta be pay attention to our stitches as we go and
we’re gonna get started right now. So get your 5.5 mm, size ‘I’
crochet hook or whatever hook that you decided
that is your best tension and
let’s grab you’re yarn, in my case Bernat Pop and if you’re substituting just grab your yarn and let’s go.
So let’s begin our first round.
So we’re gonna create a slipknot to begin and I wanted a nice tight center and this is my own design.
So I’m really kind of personalizing this whole design because I did design it myself.
So we’re gonna chain a total of three.
So 1, 2 and 3 and I want you then to insert your hook into the beginning chain and
then yarning over pulling it through to create the center tight ring of your blanket. Keep this straggler around the outside of that ring
so that you can trap it into position. Let’s begin round number one.
You’re gonna chain three and remember what I already said chain three counts as a double crochet
in this pattern when you go to start a row, a round.
So you’re going to then a double crochet two more times into the center of that ring.
We’re gonna start establishing our square right away.
Then chain two
to turn the corner and and turn your project as you go and go back into the center of the ring
for three more double crochets.
So I’ve got mine starting off with Blue Chambre. That’s gonna be my color of choice for this whole particular sample.
You’ll notice that the sample I did is in Lipstick on your Collar.
Chain two after getting that done and then come back in again in the center and put in three more double crochets.
Okay, so we got three sides done you can see that and I want you to chain two again and
come back into the center of the ring and
you’re going to double crochet three more times and you’re going to notice in my particular
sample here whenever we go to finish a round most of the times it’ll be a half double crochet to finish.
So this is kind of a Jeannie technique that I’ve kind of adopted over time.
And so what you wanna do is reach over to the top of the first chain three, wrap the hook first
and you’re just gonna go into the top of the chain three, pull through and pull
through all three and that’s a half double crochet.
So it’s a half double crochet to join as you finish and that’s round number one. Let’s move on to round number two.
So we’re moving along into round number two. So now we’re gonna start some fun stuff.
And so you’re going to notice that there’s hooks on these and these are, it’s gonna be either a back post or a front post
and we’re gonna be creating some texture. You’re also going to notice that there’s two lines through the middle of it.
That means that it’s a treble when you see that when it’s more than just one using one is the double crochet and then there’s
two then it’s a treble.
So we’re gonna be playing with that. Now because you’re using trebles here when you go to do the outside corners
you have to decrease your stitches.
So we’ve gone back to a double crochet
because we have to reduce the height. So we get longer stitches to reach out to do the posts
but then we have to shorten it back up for the corners
and if you don’t do that, then it ends up buckling on you. So let’s move along to round number two.
So let’s move along to round number two.
We’re going to chain three you remember that counts as a double crochet.
Probably be saying that throughout the whole tutorial cuz that’s just a habit and you’re going to double crochet into that same chain two space.
And now we’re going to begin the fun work of doing front post and back post
but we’re gonna start off with the front post first. So it’s a front post treble.
So wrap that hook first and you see the post that’s directly below just come in from the side of it and
then out the other side. So not the tops just on the sides and you pull through and then pull through two,
two and two.
Now you’re going to do a back post treble around the middle one. So wrap the hook twice and come from the backside out
through the front and then back out
to the back again.
And that’s a back post treble.
Okay, and now that next one is a front post treble. So wrap the hook twice and
then into the side of it and the back out the other side and
finish it off as normal as a normal treble. So you’ve got some text to work now going on.
So we’re now going to go into our first chain two space. So you’re just gonna do two double crochets first
followed by chain two and
two double crochets again and that allowed you to turn the corner.
So I’ll show you one more side together and then I’ll let you do the other two sides.
It’s part of a challenge for you. So wrap the hook twice and start off with a front post treble
and then the middle one, the next one is a back post treble. So wrap twice in from the back, out back towards the back and
finish it off and
the next one is a front post treble.
And your corner will be like you did before so there’s gonna be two double crochet,
chain two and two double crochet.
So what I want you to do is do that same idea going all the way for the remaining of the two rounds and I’ll
see you at the end of this round.
So I’m coming on the final side, and I’m just
knowing how to do what I’m doing because I’m just repeating exactly what I did for the other three sides and
you’re going to then finish off this section right here with the front post treble and
then when we started we only did a half of a corner, so we’re gonna finish the other side of the corner.
So that’ll be two double crochet and we’re going to join it with the half double crochet
like I showed you before. So wrap the hook in the top of the chain three reach over pull through and pull through all three.
So that was round number two. Let’s move on to round number three.
So round number three, we’re going to carry on exactly what you already know. The difference is is that it’s gonna be very consistent.
So see how that’s a front post treble?
It’s gonna stay a front post treble and this one will stay a back post and et cetera.
But now you have two more that were added to each of the sides here.
So we’re going to start off with a front post treble then back post,
keep this as a front, back, front, back and front. So let’s begin. You’re gonna chain up three,
counts as a double crochet. Double crochet one more time in there and
now we start with the first one and it will be a front post treble
and then it will go to a back post treble on the next one.
So we’re now redefining those ones that were just kind of regular stitches before we’re just giving them some texture now and
so the other one is a front post treble you can see that and it will be a front post treble this time and
the next one’s back.
So we’re just matching exactly what you see but just adding the two
ones in the front and on the and on the end of the rows in order to make it look consistent.
And finally the last one will be a front post treble and then you back into a corner.
So the corners for this round will be the same of two double crochet
followed by chain two and two double crochet.
So that’s all you just need to know for each one of the sides.
So we start off with the front, back, front, back, front, back, front and then corner of two, two and two.
So let’s that continue to do that. I’ll see you at the end of round number three.
So I’m coming all the way back to where I had started
and I’m just maintaining the pattern as I know it and then the final corner
we had already started with the first two
so we’re gonna finish that with two double crochets
and then we’re going to join it with the half double crochet at the top of the first chain three.
So we’re now going to continue on to round number four.
So two rounds left number four and five. So four we’re going to continue exactly what you already know.
So we’re kind of trying to keep it simple for you.
So chain three, counts as a double crochet and then double crochet into the same chain
or into the same space.
So we’re going to keep exactly what you know, so you can see the front posts are here
and so we’re gonna start off the first one with our front post treble and that will keep everything in line for you and
so that means the next one must be a back post treble.
And now you can see we’re running into the trebles that are already there. So just keep them on the same side.
So the front post on the front and back posts on the back ones and
do that all the way across and then once you get all the way to the corner
it’s the same thing. Two double crochet, chain two, two double crochet. Please do that all the way around for round number four.
So I’m coming up to the end of round number three. Now I want you to take a look at this.
I want you to pay attention to where these posts are.
This is actually take number two accidentally skipped over one of the posts when I was coming around and I noticed it on
number four because I was missing a stitch. So you wanna make sure that you’re ending of
each section just like you see. This is the last post so it must be a front post treble in order to make it work.
Okay, so if you’re skipping anything, you’ll notice the probably in the next round and after it.
So to finish off the final corner, you’re going to put in your two double crochet
and then just join it with the half double crochet to the top of the chain three and
now let’s move along to
round number four. Round number four we’re going to maintain exactly what we already know. So we’re going to chain a total of three
and put in a double crochet in there
and now we’re gonna start off with the front post treble. So wrap the hook twice and
then we’re going to go to a back post treble in the next one. Again
just keep an eye on the number of your posts as you’re going all the way around.
You don’t need to be too careful, but you just gotta keep watching.
So this next one is a front post treble we can see that so we’re still maintaining
those to be in the front and the ones that are on the back still continue to be on the back.
You’re just gonna do that all the way across so then you’ll just do that all the way to the end of this
row over here and then you’re gonna turn. So you just keep front post, so this is front,
that’ll be back, front and then two double crochet, chain two, two double crochet in the corners.
So please do that all the way around for round number four.
I’m coming all the way back around to number four and then we’re gonna be heading on to round number five as
we continue along in our journey. So it’ll be the last round for this particular clue.
So the very last chain space or the space there is two double crochet and we’re going to join it with the half double crochet
at the top of the chain three.
So let’s continue then to round number five.
We’re gonna keep it nice and consistent
but now we’re gonna get rid of some texture and we’re now gonna flatten it off. I found with single crochets
it’s a great way for breaking up the stitch work.
So now what we’re going to do is that we’re immediately going to just chain one and single crochet into the same space and
I want you to apply a single crochet into each one of the stitches going all the way around
except for the corners. I want you to put in a single crochet, chain two, single crochet.
So please do that and I’ll meet you at the end of this round and
we’ll just make sure that you finish it off right and do not fasten off and I think I might be changing colors real soon
too. So we’ll find out what happens just a moment.
Before I get all the way back around one of the biggest mistakes that you can do with this particular
design or any design when you’re starting to switch out your stitch work for trebles and halves and singles.
So I’ve done a single crochet and I’ve done my chain two
and now some people, like I’m a loose crochet and you can see my where I’m about to go.
But sometimes it’s not so obvious.
So you gotta just make sure that you just follow up the stitch work
to make sure that you’re going to get into the right spot. So we’re going to do a single crochet into the same
space and sometimes that can vary in this first stitch.
So you wanna make sure that you’re just being kind of nice and gentle with it so that you’re accidentally not skipping over anything
when it comes to that. If anything your
rounds will get thrown off for um, um,
counts will be within the corner spaces if you accidentally start skipping over anything. So I’m making my way to the next one
and you can see that it’s kind of flattened based on the other ones being a textured.
So we’re gonna be starting something kinda different in the next week to come. So that’s the, that’s it for that side.
So you just go right into a space,
and right into space again and you start immediately on the first one and you keep on going around
and I’ll see you at the end of this round.
So I’m now coming up to the very final edge and the yarn just changed color on its own.
I didn’t plan that this happened to be the whole section which is awesome.
You know, I love happy little accidents like this, but now we’re coming to the conclusion of this row.
So this side is now complete.
So we’re gonna just finish the final corner. You’re going to single crochet and what we’re going to do then is
just a half double crochet join
to the first single crochet. And what you’re going to do then is hold this for week number two for me.
This is what it will look like and when you look at the back you can still see that it has texture on the back
as well as on the front. But that’s it for now. Let’s carry on into week number two next time.

Choo Shin-soo headed to first career All-Star Game after setting club record – Duration: 2:04. Staying in the world of sports.

South Korean slugger Choo Shin-soo earns a spot in the All-Star game for the first time
in his MLB career.
Deservingly so, as the Choo Choo train broke the Texas Rangers’ single-season franchise
Park Se-young has the full story.
Probably the best day of my life, is what Texas Rangers’ outfielder Choo Shin-soo said
upon hearing he’d been selected to be part of the All-Star action.
He’ll be the third Korean player to appear in the MLB All-Star Game, …following the
Dodgers’ Park Chan-ho in 2001 and Arizona’s Kim Byung-hyun in 2002.
Choo made the roster for the 89th Midsummer Classic as an outfielder, becoming the first
Korean position player to earn the spot.
The same day he received that exciting news, …Choo broke the Rangers’ single-season on-base
record by reaching base in 47 consecutive games.
The record didn’t come easy.
Choo had to use his speed and benefit from a bit of luck in his final at-bat against
the Detroit Tigers,… hitting an infield single off reliever Victor Alcantara in the
9th inning of the Rangers’ 3-0 win at Comerica Park in Detroit.
The Busan native breaks the team record held by Julio Franco,… who currently coaches
the Lotte Giants’ Future’s League team.
The record is also the longest active streak in Major League Baseball,… as Choo has been
on base in every game since May 13th.
But he still has more records to break.
Among active players,… Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds and Albert Pujols of the LA
Angels holds the record with a 48-game streak,… while Will Clark holds the Rangers’ franchise
on-base record of 58 games,… over a two-season span in 1995 and 1996.
But Choo has a long way to go for the all-time Major League record.
The legendary Ted Williams holds that honor,… reaching base in 84 consecutive games in 1949.

this week and tomorrow I’ve actually got a video on different ways that you can
use a clipping mask in Adobe Illustrator the first annoying alliterative problem
that you might face is something you can activate by mistake in Illustrator
every single vector object is made up of a vector path if you press command or
control H you can actually hide these paths if you press this by mistake and
you didn’t mean to it might be confusing and alarming it is always handy to know
as many shortcuts as possible when working in Illustrator so if your vector
paths disappear now you know why the second illustrator problem you might
encounter is working within the Pathfinder window firstly let’s drag out
a pathfinder window from the sidebar so we can access the functions fairly
easily with these shapes on my canvas I want to cut out the blue rectangles into
both the sides of the gray shapes if we select everything and then go
ahead and use the minus front option in the Pathfinder window you will see that
is not the desired effect that we want we can group the gray shapes with
command or control G but even doing that illustrator doesn’t
do what we wanted to do the trick here is to hold down the alt option key and
then press the minus front option this turns the shape into a compound path
which then allows us to do what we want to do with these shapes the third
problem that you’re going to face I can quickly show you now with these shapes
here how can we move one section of the design even though it’s one combined
vector shape one way is to press a on your keyboard for the direct selection
tool and then click all of the anchor points you want and then you can move
them as you wish stay tuned for more useful problems that
you might encounter from working illustrator in today’s video do you know
what the type area tool is if you don’t then you’re going to soon can actually
locate it under the type tool by holding on a click like so this is going to help
us easily type inside of shapes and custom shapes something some people
might have problems with so let’s generate a shape like so using the
polygon tool we can press Shift + X together to flip the fill over to a
stroke because we want to see the vector path easily
you need to select the shape first with the selection tool and then take the
type area tool and click exactly on the vector path of the shape
illustrator will place text into the shape and now you can go ahead and enter
the character styles of the text as you can see this is a very easy function to
use and you can even take the pen tool and make some custom shapes to put your
tags into the next illustrator problem is one that you might have already
experienced sometimes your text or your designs might not seem crisp and clean
around the edges right now my text is fine but if I wanted to fix the problem
they’re not being crisp and clean I can actually try going up and turning off
the GPU setting located here this is one of the main reasons for graphics looking
blurry or pixelated in adobe illustrator on your screen
another illustrator problem they might have activated by mistake is that you
might have hidden the bounding box around the text or an object when we
select a design element in Illustrator it has a box around it allowing us the
scale rotates and to easily move the object around you can hide and reveal
this here in the drop-down menu
another simple problem designers might encounter is that the toolbar disappears
on their screen now again this can be alarming or confusing but all you need
to do is to head up to the drop down menu and then activate it again you can
also press the tab key on your keyboard that’s gonna hide all panels and
toolbars press it again to reveal them back
the last illustrator problem that you might encounter is when generating a
shape with a shape tool the transform window is going to appear now I’ve shown
this on my channel before but I’m going to mention it again because it is so
common now listen get really annoying because it’s gonna keep happening unless
you deactivate a setting in the transform window so go ahead and open
the transform window and then turn off the setting here
now when you make a shape any kind of shape illustrator will not open up this

Four members of Thai football team rescued from flooded cave – Duration: 1:52. Over in Thailand.
After weeks of being trapped in a flooded cave, some of the young soccer team members
finally got to see daylight.
Four out of twelve boys were rescued.
The process involved moving through submerged passageways, a risky option considering they
Ro Aram explains further.
Officials believe the operation to rescue the youth football team is not as difficult
as they initially thought.
The acting governor of Chiang Rai province said mild weather and falling water levels
in recent days had created optimal conditions for an underwater evacuation.
But Sunday’s extraction process was still risky and complicated.
Cave rescue experts had considered an underwater extraction to be a last resort, especially
as most of the boys can’t swim.
Eighteen divers, both local and foreign, guided the four boys to safety, swimming though narrow,
submerged passageways that claimed the life of a former Thai navy diver on Friday.
The four boys, whose names were not released, were then transported to hospital.
Eight of the boys and their coach remain inside and their extraction was called off on Sunday
night until the next day to give divers time to restock supplies.
…..”We will be ready soon, because we will need to redo the laying out of all the air
tanks and all systems along the way again.
We have used everything in the set up that we had today.
The set up team will do their work again once they are ready…..”
However, monsoon rain and storms are expected in Chiang Rai over the next few weeks, which
will certainly hamper rescue operations.
Water pumps have drained a significant amount of water out of the cave, but time is still
of the essence.
Officials are hoping to get the remaining nine out within the next four days.
