Pierre H. Matisse to Unveil 2004 Code Amber Poster

Pierre H. Matisse, grandson of Henri Matisse will unveil the 2004 Code Amber poster on February 27, 2004 at 2pm, during a press conference for the Children's Safety Awareness conference at the Morningside Academy in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Officials from St. Lucie county and surrounding counties will be on hand to discuss child safety, and abduction prevention.

Matisse has agreed to personally sign the first 2,500.

The poster, titled "Do You See What I See," is a print of a paper cut-out depicting children looking for images in clouds. Mr. Matisse, who has helped many organizations with fundraising activities, sees Code Amber as the organization that CAN make a difference in the Amber Alert system. He expresses his dismay that children are targets. "In my day, children played freely, adults were there to help, not hurt, and children were always looked after. Now it seems they live in fear of strangers and adults, and that should never be."

Mr. Matisse has produced images for the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Committee (bobsled), Project Hope, Denver Children's Hospital, National Epilepsy Foundation , UN Orphan's Fund, Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital, Variety Club, Children's Home Society of Florida, Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas, and many others.

Matisse creates paintings and paper cut outs in the tradition of his grandfather, Henri Matisse. He has taken the art of paper cut outs to the level of producing original archival works.

Bryant Harper, President of CodeAmber.org is honored Matisse chose his organization. "We all realize the potential, not only fundraising, but having a gentleman like Pierre associated with Code Amber. Children love him." Harper said.

The majority of funds raised from the poster will benefit CodeAmber.org. Posters are available on-line at www.codeamber.org, personally signed by Pierre H. Matisse for a $100 contribution to CodeAmber or $50 with a printed signature.
