Mandeville LA - After 20 months of operation and 138 Amber Alerts published involving 161 children in 35 states some interesting trends can be identified in the emergence of the Amber Alert system in the United States and Canada.

"As the awareness and adoption of the Amber Alert system increases we are seeing more states and local law enforcement departments recognizing incidents that warrant the use of the Amber Alert system. Code Amber published 14 verified Amber Alerts in March of this year which indicates that the system is being used more often than at this time last year. In March of 2003 only 5 verified Amber Alerts were published by Code Amber which demonstrates the success of the national effort to expand the system", said Bryant Harper, Founder of Codeamber.org.

Complete statistics including race, gender and recovery status are available at the CodeAmber.org web site. Statistics will be updated at the conclusion of each new Amber Alert published on the Code Amber Ticker and web site.

"With the deployment of over 135,000 Code Amber Tickers and by reaching over 1,000,000 Internet citizens and media outlets every day, we are seeing the realization of my ultimate goal; to make the Amber Alert system so pervasive that it becomes a deterrent to the criminals that prey on our children, not just a recovery tool", continued Harper.

The Code Amber Ticker has been seen over 350,00,000 times as of April 1, 2004 and it is projected that over 800,000,000 (eight hundred million) Tickers will be seen over the next 12 months on over 200,000 web sites and computer desktops.

Code Amber's XML feed is delivered directly to first tier media outlets for distribution on their web sites. In addition, all national media provide links directly to Code Amber during alerts that reach widespread attention so that information is current. Because information is received directly from law enforcement, Code Amber also provides media with victim and suspect images as well as contact information in a reciprocal information exchange.

About CodeAmber –CodeAmber.org is the largest provider of Amber Alert broadcasting on the Internet. Started in 2002, CodeAmber now reaches over 135,000 Websites and displays over one million news tickers daily. CodeAmber delivers XML feed to major media, government, and wireless phone services. Based in Mandeville, LA, CodeAmber last year expanded and now reaches all 50 states as well as Canada. CodeAmber works directly with law enforcement and media, and delivers descriptions and photographs to news desks within minutes after an Amber Alert is issued.
