Mandeville, LA - Sponsors in 19 states across the country will participate in CodeAmber's One Day Community Challenge to distribute over 10,000 non-invasive DNA kits FREE to families. The kits are designed to keep valuable information handy if a child should become missing. Sponsors include car dealerships, flower shops and mortgage companies among others. One sponsor, Countrywide Home Loans, will be distributing 300 kits each in their offices in Keene, NH, Peabody, MA, West Springfield, MA, and Southington, CT.

"Countrywide Home Loans makes a conscious commitment to its customers through all their lifetime cycles and needs." says Brian Koss, regional vice president of Countrywide Home Loans. "Nothing makes us prouder than sponsoring such a worthwhile endeavor for their children and grandchildren."

Bryant Harper, President and Founder of CodeAmber.org, says parents want the most current technology. "Chances are they will never need it, but they want the security of having it," he says. "This is a great way for local businesses to show their appreciation to the community, especially at this time of year." Code Amber presents child safety events nationwide.

The kits are very easy to use, and DNA sampling is done in the privacy of the home. Parents are also urged to keep current photographs in digital form and current vital information ready in one location in case it's needed.

CodeAmber.org maintains a national Amber Alert ticker which is broadcast to over 100,000 locations and is viewed one million times a day. Amber Alert is a partnership between law enforcement and broadcasters to quickly distribute information about an abducted child.
