Code Amber, The Web's Amber Alert System Year End Report - 2006

Expands Amber Alert Notification Network and Partners with Child Information Storage System - Amber Stick

Mandeville, LA - Code Amber (www.codeamber.org) continues to make significant strides in expanding its Amber Alert notification network with the most widely recognized Amber Alert Ticker. With the addition of 56,000 this year, it is now displayed on over 330,000 websites and computers.

By the numbers, Code Amber displayed nearly 300 million tickers in 2006 alone and totaling over 1.2 billion since we began in 2003. Over 400 Amber Alerts have been published by Code Amber since 2003, with 86 in 2006. A total of 490 children were involved in the 400 plus Amber Alerts published.

Code Amber continues to receive increasing support from media and law enforcement agencies that run the ticker on their websites. Bacon's Information has supported Code Amber since 2003 by providing essential media contact information and distribution.

Ruth McFarland, Senior Vice President says "Considering the importance and success of Amber Alerts in their ongoing mission to locate and recover abducted children nationwide, Bacon's is very proud to have played a part in their achievements.

On December 12, a partnership with Amber Stick was announced creating the only child identification system endorsed by Code Amber.

Built in software on a small USB Flash Drive makes it accessible in seconds on any windows based computer, and allows it to be carried on your key chain, purse or wallet making it fully portable.

An additional feature will allow information to be directly transmitted to Code Amber, at the discretion of the issuing law enforcement agency, so that the information is readily available if an Amber Alert is activated.

We remain grateful to our media partners, who consistently link to Code Amber during active alerts to provide their viewers and listeners with the most current information regarding the missing child.

Of course, our costs will increase with the growth which makes your continued support all the more important. We provide a variety of ways for you to help support the Code Amber project. We receive no government funding or grants. We accept contributions and sponsorships to offset the cost of the Ticker and to provide communications between law enforcement and broadcast media. The Code Amber project is a success as a result of the support of the Web community. For complete information please click here.

In closing, I hope that all of you have a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous 2007!

Thank you for your time and continued support.

Sincerely,
Bryant Harper
